Default Battlefield Line - Miniature Traction Engine Weekend 2014 - April 26th/27th

Following on from the popular first event a month ago, I am organising a repeat event for April 26th/27th 2014. This is the Battlefield Line's Miniature Traction Engine Weekend. This year we had 24 miniature engines which we hope to improve upon even more in 2014. We welcome any engine in any scale and try to promote a friendly weekend in Leicestershire. PM me for more details. I am very interested in welcoming more engines to Market Bosworth Station and in particular working displays such as miniature threshing and miniature wood-sawing where possible. I would love to hear from anybody and thank you for reading

Final update now as we are only 7 weeks away. 7 weeks Friday we'll be setting up for our Miniature Event...

Image sent in by D.Playfoot of last years line-up of 20 miniatures

So, for this year, the pretty-much finalised line-up for the event is...
* At least 35 Miniature Traction Engines In Steam
* Visiting Pipe Organ powered by 3" Showmans "The Griffin"
* Miniature Working Displays of Wood Sawing & Flour Milling
* Awning Displays of Model Trucks and Meccano Locomotives
* Full Size Centrepiece Engines by invitation are Wallis Expansion Engine "Pedler" and Aveling & Porter Roller "Louise"
* Indoor displays of Model Engineering, 16mm Live Steam and Toy Steam as well as Catering
* Engine Line-up and Big Whistle 2pm Each Day

If you happen to be passing that weekend, please nip in, have a cuppa' and say hello!

For entry to Market Bosworth only in order to see the event, prices are Adult £4 and Child £2. These gate prices are refundable against the price of a steam train travel ticket for our 10-mile round trip. The trains that weekend should be hauled by the beautiful GWR 3803. Travel tickets are Adult £10, Child £6 and OAP £8. If you buy a travel ticket you see the event for free! Why not travel to the event from Shackerstone or Shenton and make a day of it!

PS guys I have like 1 maybe 2 engine spaces left for this event if anyone wants a quiet but very steamy (ooo er!) weekend in Leicestershire. Engines are paid £10 a day steaming fee, all the tea/coffee you can drink, some coal and of course the exhibitors have the special train Saturday night. PM for details. www.battlefieldline.co.uk

All the Best and I look forward to welcoming all of our exhibitors to Market Bosworth in April
