Default Dynamos and alternators

Old age has arrived, and the collection of dynamos and alternators need to find another home.

Bought mainly as possible wind generator generators, don't have any traction engine bits larger than 3".

See photos.

Alternators, 2 of, one unused, other seized. These are ex-military, Project Wombat, 28V DC 450A, 40cm L x 22cm D, weight about 50kg or so. Designed for about 6000 rpm maximum.

Dynamos, 2 of, Rotax, look new to me. Ex-military from something, 28V DC 200A, 7100-9000rpm, 33cm L x 15cm D. Size is just the body, the front mount is larger.

Servo motors, 2 of. Ex-military, removed from a missile tracking system. 100V at 2A or so, very low speed, few hundred rpm. Weight about 20kg, I can lift it.

Servo motors, 2 of. Ex-military, from missile tracking system. 100V at 3A or so, very low speed, few hundred rpm. Weight about 30kg, struggle to lift it.

Possibly useful for large scale TEs up to about 6" scale?

The alternators and dynamos will need some gearing up to generate a sensible voltage.

The servo motors are interesting. Have coupled two together, run one from a variac supply and rectifier from the mains, limited to 3A but get it working with similar DC output voltage. These would make excellent low speed wind turbine generators. The snag is that they are not sealed, would need some serious work to weather proof them. They are actually DC brish motors inside, with a large commutator nearly the outside diameter of the motor with lots of brushes.

Price, now just to get rid of them, £100 each except the Wombat alternators £300 new and £159 seized, more copper in these!. Must be collected, near Grantham.

I see I can't post photos.

No interest, can't see how to delete the advert, but now scrapped.
