Default More from Beamish Great North Steam Fair

Great pictures from Puff. Hope nobody minds if I add some more.

A&P roller 'Ayesha'. First time I've seen a roller on rubbers. The lack of 'rolling' noise seemed strange.

Like the policeman controlling the traffic.

Delighted to see the Yorkshire wagon at last.

And the Sentinel from the same stable.

Didn't expect to see anyone I knew so far from home, so pleased to meet the Durlings and 'Morning Star'. Last seen on Lowestoft pier after their remarkable 'Coast 2 Coast for Cystic Fibrosis' trip last year.
[IMG][/IMG]

Marshall 'Mary Margaret', as in Lampwortroy's roading video, at work on the saw bench.
[IMG][/IMG]

Robey with an 'ancestor' in the background.

The same in one of the lovely settings at Beamish.

There are lots of pictures of 'Providence', but here's the generator for her head lights.

Heavy traffic.
[IMG][/IMG]

If you've not been to Beamish, here's an impression of the coalmine area. Just one corner of the hugh site.
[IMG][/IMG]

Not steam, but possibly the most curious machine. This ugly brute is a 4 wheel drive, 4 wheel steer Latil.
[IMG][/IMG]

Finally - the hero of the day must have been this chap, riding an 'Ordinary' bicycle over the cobbles and tram tracks of the town.
[IMG][/IMG]

Pity Beamish is so far from Norfolk, but it's well worth the trip.
Bill.

My first visit this year, thoroughly enjoyable setting & got to see 14 engines that I hadn't seen before.

Walked 5 1/2 miles on Saturday around the site so is great for exercise!

It's a super event. Couldn't make it this year, but fully intend to next year.

Paul Antell's Robey is a credit to father & son. If you see the vid on FB there isnt a wisp of steam escaping as she climbs the slope. Johns fowler is the same , lovely engines. I see Will Dakin was there, me & Paul Wood were wondering if he 'd be there !
The photo of Mary Margret sawing could actually be in WW1 on a semi permanant bench they set up in the estates at that time , with millitary personnell drafted in to help.
