Brian, I believe you are correct, I also missed out the 'Th.' when I replied above

After looking into this a little further to ensure my records are correct it's actualy Th. Flöther

It seems that an o with umlaut "ö" can also be written as "oe" so it would appear that both are correct, and the "Th." is short for Theodor or Theodore.

When was the identity of this engine amended? When it appeared at GDSF in 2004

It had a completely different one.

Well, I'm not used to seeing UK engines up close and personal, but I knew that Floether (however you spell it!) had to be SOMETHING different than your normal-normal! Kinda neat looking machine. Looking at the pics of the rally, looks like a real nice one to visit.
