Default 27th Essex Country Show (Barleylands) 14-9-2013

Despite the rain, ground conditions were not too bad, a shingle type track has been laid from the main road, to the Billericay car park.,
The tracks between fields were on the muddy side, the rest, mainly grass, was fine to walk on. The 6 ploughing engines were ploughing as usual
Here is what I found: -

We have just got AP9170 back home after a throughly enjoyable run back. Had a cracking weekend at Barleyalnds despite the lousy weather.

We are steaming 8837 back home next weekend.

For the second year running, I have been lucky to find another Bomford and Evershed engine. This time it was Ruston and Hornsby 114059, newly restored, but not quite finished, just in time for the show by Simon Vickery. One of only two compound engines to have survived, I am told.

Mark.
