Default Little Casterton Working Weekend 2013

Went over this afternoon for a couple of hours, a traditional working event, a nice way to end the season.

A rare opportunity for me to see a ploughing engine I've never seen before, former John Patten BB, Fowler 14384 Princess:

Ploughing at the other end was Fowler 15451, Victory:

And the other engines present, Ransomes Sims & Jefferies 37087:

Ruston Hornsby 161250:

And another Ruston Hornsby 175037:

Thanks to all involved.

Yes I was looking at them, I suspect it might be some sort of repair? Those Patten engines had a long life and they were pretty beaten up by the end.

McLaren 127 has a similar arrangement, I believe those wheels were repaired ones added later by Taskers?

One of the best events I have been to in a long while, shame it clashes with old warden most years. Never seen a peg drum working before or so many rare old tractors.

I was exhibiting in the Stationary Engine section near the steam ploughing and it was very entertaining to watch. Of course the fine weather was a nice bonus as well!

Pete.
