Grin Selby Steam Fair

This will replace what was Nostell Priory Steam Fair and will be held at Carlton Towers near Selby, which should certainly create a very nice backdrop.

The date is the weekend of 13th and 14th June 2009.

Organiser - Events & Exhibitions Ltd.

Looking forward to it!

Can we expect a similar size event to Nostell Priory ?
I was thinking of going to Stapleford if things are looking a bit uncertain .
If the Selby event draws a good number of exhibits I would be interested in spending a day there also.

My honest answer is I don't know, but with the lack of publicising, I do have my doubts. I would assume (or hope) that the organisers have informed all exhibitors due to attend Nostell, about this change. Maybe exhibitors on TT could comment? I was told that posters etc. will be published this weekend - only 1 week prior to the event!

I live in the vacinity, so will go for a look at not much expense, but can understand anyone who is thinking twice.

They haven't been making phone calls or if they have it must of only been to a select few, I think you were ment to get it as a surprise a week or so before the show when the passes got sent out. We did originally hear that the Clumber Rally was being moved to Carlton Towers, then we heard that it was cancelled then moved to Bakewell. So its interesting to know that one of the events has infact moved to Carlton Towers.

I think Michael is going to take it. The gateway to the house looks ok on Google satellite. Are you going too ?

Having spoke with Ampeater who is local to the site. Apparently the main gate, you won't get thru unless you wish to sratch the trucks paintwork. Apparently you'd have to go round to the doxn side round the back.
So sounds like you might do best to have a look either before you go, or find out more rather than have all the fun and games when you get there.

Just this might help ya Pete.
