Default The `Great North Steam Fair` Beamish Museum 11th-14th of April 2019.

A very enjoyable 3 days at Beamish with so much to see I will have to make another visit sometime in the future if ever I am in that area to have a closer look at the museum itself when they do not have a special event, there were just so many people on the Saturday, perhaps when the new 1950s area is finished.

I had to get a passing Gentleman to stand beside the Face Shovel to get a scale of how big it is.

Had a cracking day on Saturday , movement from opening to closing time .
The owner / driver of Foster " Mighty Atom " has to to be highly commended for a sterling job of transporting visitors around the museum all day

I was talking to the owner when I arrived at Beamish on the Thursday morning and it seems it was lucky he got there at all, the Foster had a leak just days before and in trying to cure it he broke a stud, he cancelled the Lowloader and tried everything he could to remove the broken stud that had been in the Foster since 1913, but he did cure the leak and he told me how and re-organised the Lowloader and as you say he did a wonderful job taking visitors around the museum grounds, and I and many others would have been pleased he persevered to fix `Mighty Atom`

I have to say that the Foster is always well turned out on the occasions in the past whenever I have seen it , credit to it's owner / operator .
