As far as im aware its the original fowler 3 cylinder diesel unit, i will confirm this for you.

I haven't got any pics of the roller just now but will try and get some.

Hi. it is the original fowler type 3VM diesel engine that is in it.

Hi Gav

Can you tell me if the engine that's in the roller is complete or there are parts missing. I have got a contact for parts for that Fowler engine and i may be able to get hold of the missing pieces. The guy has it sat in his garden and it is just about all there.
I`m a great Fowler fan as well, I see you have a couple of them , are they good runners?.

Hi

The roller is more or less complete in all the big outer parts, the problem is that a lot of the internal engine parts are missing. You have good tase in engines!lol Their really quite nice little engines to play with not needing that much attention when running.
