Default WSRA Norton Fitzwarren 4th-5th August

A nice show held on the site of the West Somerset Railway Association turning line, so full size steam trains right in the field! There is also a platform to catch a steam train going around 15 miles to Minehead station which is right on the coast. On the Friday night all exhibitors can go on a free train to Minehead and back with around 500 people on board, that makes the train grunt and can give a nice spark show in the night
Site address, WSRA Fields, Norton Fitzwarren, Taunton, Somerset, TA4 1BH. 01823 433856

15miles???? when i was working there in the 1970's it was 21 miles to Lydeard from Minehead, or has all this rain this year caused the railway to shrink!

Yea I guess it did but the last time I rode on it my tape measure ran out at 5 meters? I'll buy a bigger tape for Friday.

From their facebook page:
It is with regret we have to announce that today's Steam Fayre and Vintage Vehicle Rally at Norton Fitzwarren has been cancelled due to heavy rains overnight and a waterlogged rally site. http://www.west-somerset-railway.co..._rally/

Another event gone today
