Default Weeting 50th Rally, Saturday 21 July 2018 Part 5

This is the last part of my selection, apologies for any that I missed but the weather was very hot and by 4:30 I was all in. I know I missed the two ploughing engines giving the ploughing demonstration.

The Stanley steam car is carrying the guest Elizabeth Truss MP who opened the show into the areana.

If anyone can give engine details for the last portable of this selection, it was in the timberyard section, however I believe it was it was working off steam from the static boilers and I could see no id marks.

Enjoy

I believe it's a Marshall but I don't know the works number
or year of manufacture.

Default Unknown Marshall

I believe that the Marshall portable engines works number is 71725 and is listed in the TER as located in Thetford which seems reasonable for an engine located in Weeting.

No!!!
71725 was at work in the stone crushing etc area.
There is a picture of it in my report:
http://www.internationalsteam.co.uk/...lers333.htm#89
I asked about this portable last year and none of the volunteers knew of an identity.
A second Marshall portable # 45028 was at work near 71725. The 4th Marshall portable (in the log yard) is also unidentified.
Of course, there are numerous unidentified such engines at the end of the Marshall list in the TER. Given their origin and condition, it is unlikely they will ever be identified.

The Marshall portable piped up to the stationary boiler is I believe owned by Derek Marder.
