Well, had I gone I assume I would have a different opinion by the sounds of it! Abit gutted I missed it but will make sure I don't next year!

I'm all up for a variety of engines and how the whole show has been planned but I would have thought that keeping the local ones there it'd be easier for Robert than having to replace every single engine year on year.
Unless of course he gets some of Dreelan's engines out... now that would be a superb year!

Interesting that partly as a result of this we had a Fowler roller that had never been out of Scotland since it was delivered new, a Marshall traction engine from Ireland that had never been to an event this side of the Irish Sea, three engines that are now unique survivors of their type/make (Tasker, Savage and Gibbons and Robinson). The oldest McLaren, no 2, (from New Zealand) that appeared in Dorset last year.
Last year's event was excellent, this year perhaps, even better. I certainly had an enjoyable time at both - crewing a showman's last year, and commentating this year. Looking forward to the next one - same weekend next year, by the way.

And i forgot to point out in my thanks to Jenny,David and Robert a thankyou to John for his excellent commentry all weekend!
