Wanted,

750rpm 8 pole 5.5kw- 7.5kw electric motor for use on my Samuel Platt Hercules blacksmiths hammer.

Not 750 but 950rpm according to the motor plate for delta connection - see picture of the plate below.

Hi Carl / Russ,
vfd
I suppose I could run a 950rpm or a 1450 motor at 750 with a VFD, I had'nt thought of that, I might leave the hammer outside under a sheet I dont know how VFD electronics would like that.
I could use a jackshaft on the 950 motor, a bit messy but doable.

I'll give you a ring Carl, Happy new year to you all, ( I havent steamed Independence yet, my gang say I,m frightened of it )
