Default Duncombe Park

http://www.duncombepark.com/july.shtml

Held on 5/6th July, this rally will be worth a visit if the article in the July issue of 'Old Glory' remains true - 3 engines make their debut there - yes 3!!! One being 'The President' recently finished RL (again, I hope that article is true!!!). Ian Fearnley's Sentinel DG6 will be there in steam for the first time on public display and because I don't have the mag with me at the moment, but do have a bad memory, can't mention the third, but think it's a Marshall TE?!?

I hope to be there, anyone else going?

Paul

Hold on a minute, according the several reports on TT The President is going to attending Hollycombe Festival of Steam

Both of these events are on the 5 & 6 July.

Seeing that each event is pretty much at oposite ends of the country I think it unlikely she is going to both!

I'll try and get an answer, if anybody knows already could they post here.

I have a disheartening feeling that you are correct David. I would've thought that the info on TT is more up-to-date than when OG went to press! Here's hoping I'm wrong (again!).

I'm afraid that I have heard from most people that The President will be attending Hollycombe. Because unfortunately it will not be appearing at Dial Post Traction Engine Rally.

I can confirm that the PRESIDENT will NOT be at Duncombe park. It is going to Hollycombe, being driven over on the Friday from Jimmer Marsh's premises.

The OG article does say that the heavy haulage will be running this year (should've mentioned that earlier!) and for the first time, a Tom Varley Trophy will be awarded on Sunday by OG editor Colin Tyson (maybe the man himself could confirm that?).

Can't wait to go on Sunday!

Paul
