Hi Rob, thanks for the info, i had seen it but,its far from complete, and the boiler does look iffy despite brandon model engineering inspection marks; anyway most of their records were lost in a fire so they tell me; the backhead on the boiler has some plate soldered on it for some reason?... Does anyone know if a full set of drawings was available? in WJ Hughes book, only a general arrangement is shown? does anyone know?, Maybe there are some small engine specialists here? I liked the burrell compound 1 1/2 scale, which do come up for sale.....made to the avery drawings but the working pressure is only 60 psi or so.... which is a downside.Srs has a nice wallis and steevens showmans, part built at £4.200 but alas no drawings... many thanks, vic

I had wondered about the boiler myself with the backhead plate. Not quite sure if the bushes in the barrel where the block goes are solid bushes to be tapped into or bushes to repair an old mistake?

Default bushes?

Hi Rob, thanks for looking at it again, and your comments, i guess it could be a mistake as you say.. i did ask srs but mike didnot comment on it.I wondered what company made the castings and drawings? i think Mr Hughes did but not seen them; only the ga.Yes i was tempted by the parts but think i could only achieve a semi scale model out of them, and hard to tell really, and i have too many unfinished projects...there was one ebay a few months back but i bought a 2 inch thetford town instead, which now was the wrong decision! doh, as ive changed my criteria.
Did you see the lovely wallis and steevens 1 1/2? on srs ?the belly tanks are very distinctive! as well as the gear selector!,I different designers approach to steam vehicles!Any other small steam models i should lookout for?1 1/2 Devonshire maybe?, one on steam for sale which is nice; and maybe another coming up? but not sure about the boiler issues at 60 psi..?. thanks vic
