Default Hornsby Chain Track Tractor. 4" Scale For Sale

Up for sale due to other interests and lack of time is the totally unique Hornsby Chain Track Tractor in 4" Scale (1/3rd) built by Steve Baldock. Although this engine is 4" scale it is not to be underestimated. It is the biggest 4" scale engine ever built and is more like the size of a half size Burrell Devonshire.

Only looking to sell as after completing a Stanley Steam car a couple of seasons back Steve has reached the age where he wants his hobby to include clean coal free hands! (possibly too late for that!)

He is also conscious the engine isn't being seen out and about and therefore isn't being appreciated by others and he's just too busy with other interests and running a business.

Weight of around 1.5 tonne empty - 1.75 tonne when loaded.

Time to build engine: 10,000 hours over 12 years

Comes complete with FOUR wagons. These are also huge.

Times to build wagons: 2,000 hours over two years

Unique......the FIRST AND ONLY 4" scale replica of the full size engine that was used to pull coal during the Gold Rush in 1910. The full size engine weighed 40 tonne!!
8 speed.....4 on engine.....slow through to very very very slow

Multi Award winner....won awards at almost every show/rally/event entered over the years.

Acclaimed by many of the experts and magazines at the time of completion as the best miniature ever built.

Almost guaranteed to get you in any show and is certain to draw a crowd and make you the talk of every show.

Engine will come with a new steam ticket and a full days (or longer if needed) tuition on what everything does and how to fire/drive her.

Recently had a new 10 year hydraulic certificate on the boiler.

Loads of photo's and video's available on the net by searching 'Steve Baldock Hornsby Foster'. Also available to view/see in steam for yourself at Steam Traction World's factory.

Asking price....sensible offers considered from the right purchaser but looking for in the region of 60k for the engine and all the wagons.

For further information or for serious enquiries only please contact info@steamtractionworld.co.uk or call 01327 301030
