Excellent fun, spent many a happy hour as a kid playing with the mamods. Everybody should own a mamod.

Plenty on e-bay.

Don't but a new one, or a newish one, the build quality is dreadfull. The pipes all fall off, and the boiler bushes all come loose.

The 1970's seem to have been the heyday for Mamods.

Personally I'd look on e-bay for a pre 1976 one (i.e meths burner, and a level plug boiler), but it would have the forward reverse.

Make sure all the bits are there, there is not a lot to go wrong, main issues being the bushes in the boiler come loose. Top hat repair bushes are availible for less than the cost of a pint, and are easily fitted with plumbing solder.

I have a rough traction engne here due conversion into 'Fergus' to go on some 3inch gague track 'Dazzla' borrowed me.
