Default GWR Steam Fair, Toddington

I went over to GWR Rally today at Toddington. They have now moved back to the previous site adjacent to the station. The sun never came out like the weather said it would but I won't moan about that. Excellent cross selection of engines and working displays, although no steam ploughing this year. Worth a visit and you can look at the trains too if that's your thing.

Some pictures that I took today.

Marshall 71837 early in the day:

Matching Garrett Showman's Tractors, 33091 & 33074:

I understand 33074 is with a new owner who is reasonably local to the show:

An engine I hadn't seen before, Wallis & Steevens Advance 8005:

Different takes on the Burrell Road Locomotive, 2646 & 4093

Hawkes now carries some very smart sign writing to the canopy and was returning close to where the engine worked when new:

A selection of the engines in the arena:

My highlight of the show was this beauty:

Ah yes , dear old Countryman. Many fond memories of that at Jack Marshall's and all around Warwickshire and the West Midlands in my youth.

Ooo, a Tender by 'Basil'

Though I'm pretty sure the step isn't his handywork.

I had not seen it in a long long time. Martin will testify, I was strangely some what enchanted by it. Lovely machine!
