Having finally finished putting the canopy on the Garrett we had a steady meander down to the new Derbyshire County Show site at Locko Park. The site is pleasant although we were stuck out on the outer edges of the show which is unfortunately becoming a glorified gymkhana and 'craft' food show. The agricultural element that used to form the basis of the shows seems to be getting smaller each year.
Unfortunately the horsey lot had tied their steeds to the fence alongside the road we had to use to access the site. This caused a bit of consternation with much shouting and running about with flared nostrils and bulging eyes. And that was just the humans!
After the show we headed off down to Terry Gibson's yard ready for Elvaston Castle rally next weekend. The journey was uneventful save for the usual moronic car drivers who think you've got power assisted disc brakes or insist on overtaking round blind bends. We also had a bit of a Mexican stand off as we crossed the single file traffic controlled bridge over the Derwent. The cars eventually decided discretion was the better part of valour and took to the footpath / cycle path.
