I was a member of IEE / IET
...until membership shot up from about £30 to about £90!
The fact my employer will actually pay the membership fee for me is/was a technicality I was too lazy to get around to arranging!
BUT, I should stress that for the purposes of these talks/events (including the A1 Tornado talk)
everyone is welcome to attend, membership of IMechE, IET or any other organisation (
even NTET!) is not required.

I suppose I too ought to try and get over to it - my flat's only a 7 minute walk from the college!
There's usually buffet type nibbles laid on for those prepared to turn up a bit earlier than the start time as well
