3/4" taper pin reamer

Hi All,

I'm after a taper pin reamer 3/4" diameter at the large end. Anyone have one in reasonable condition they want rid of, or failing that a suggestion as to where I can get one? Have had a look on eBay already.

Thanks in advance,
George

What angle of taper are you looking for?

A quick look on eBay identifies a few possibles.

How deep is the hole? If the hole isn't too long then it is fairly easy to made a 'D' bit out of silver steel and harden it. Done this many times for odd tapers.

Cheers Carl.

Metric tapers are 1 in 50 and imperial are 1 in 48.
I will have a look in the morning if we have one.
MSC industrial supply may have one.

1 in 48 ideally but I'm making new pins so they can be made to suit. They're probably 3" long in total so out of the realms of a D bit unfortuantely. Will buy a brand new one if needs be but thought I would ask here just in case I could save some pennies! Especially since it's never going to be used for doing too many holes.

I made a 'D bit' out of HSS - turned out of soft M2 - hardened and ground.
That was for Nich Bailey's Aveling RL for fixing the weighshaft arms.
It was at least 8" long and 3/4" or so in diameter.
It worked perfectly - it went with the bits I did down to Dingles. Might be worth asking Nich about it, as he probably still has it.
