in the Beer Tent, our cheery barmaids and pint-pullers will be happy to serve you any of our range of real ales from local breweries (we aim to offer a choice of 10 each year) as well as lager, cider, wine and soft drinks. Breweries represented include Humpty Dumpty (Reedham), Grain (Harleston), and Green Jack (Lowestoft) as well the The Norfolk Cider Company. This year we will be showcasing Thurlton’s new microbrewery, The People’s Brewery.

After the main event has close, the beer tent will remain open for the bands to play, and for people to unwind and relax and have a drink or two. The bar will close around 11pm.

There is around 90 trade stands booked for this year, offering a large range of country crafts, bygones, and other interesting things

The 2014 fair is set to become the biggest ever in the fairs 39 year history.

The Fair was started as the Raveningham Threshing Fair and its purpose was to raise funds for the Raveningham Group of Churches. The centre point of every fair was the steam engine and threshing machine; other rural crafts and displays where also shown, including cutting the straw with a old binder, old tractors and stationary engines. After the 25th year the name was changed to encompass the evolving face of the event, and it is now the Raveningham Country Fair (though still referred to by many affectionately as the threshing fair). The Fair still raises money for the Raveningham Group of Churches as well as a number of local charities and good causes. 2014 will be the 39th year a fair has been held in Raveningham and it is becoming one of the longest established events on the Norfolk/Suffolk border.

The Fair takes place on the first Saturday after the August Bank Holiday in the Raveningham area. We are kindly offered the use of a field by Sir Nicholas Bacon at Raveningham Hall.

This years fair is SATURDAY August 30th.

Gates open 10am, main event 10:30 until 5pm, evening entertainment 5:30 until 11pm.
