Horse-Drawn Pantechnicon. J E Thomas

Something a little different....
A late 1800's early 1900's Horse-Drawn Pantechnicon in the livery of J E Thomas Furniture Removers from Oswestry.
Given its vintage its in pretty remarkable condition apart from the 48" rear wheels which are shot!
I don't know much more about this item or the company although I did find the picture attached showing the steam wagon towing a similar trailer, No.5, and this gives some idea of dates and age. The steam wagon was not purchased till 1910 allegedly and as mine is No. 4 I think its safe to say it pre dates this.
Kirkstall hub caps suggesting they made the axles..
That's about it, pictures tell the story

Thanks for all the interest in this.
Some further pictures have been uploaded to my pictures folder

Dimensions as follows.
Overall length (without an drawbar) 512cm
Overall width 210cm
Height from ground level to centre of roof 260cm
Height inside from raised, main floor section 150cm where roof bowed in 165cm at end where no bowing.

Oak chassis is as solid as the day it was made, some 120 plus years ago
Rear wheels are shot
Front wheels complete but well infested with worm but not falling apart like rears
Cladding is in good overall condition but worm and rot in evidence especially at ends, roof picture shows this......

That just about covers it all. Best way to appreciate this is to view it...

The reason I am selling is that I bought it at auction with a view to turning into some kind of living van for behind my roller. Unfortunately my covered space will not accommodate both of them so the roller stays, the Pantechnicon goes....

Thanks again
