The weather just about held for the Ilkeston Heritage & Classic Vehicle Show. Despite a reported record number of entries actual vehicle attendees was down on last year. It would appear some of the car boys and girls didn't want to get their precious vehicles damp! At least the steam contingent held its end up with a full compliment of entered engines including Foster TE Sprig making her first public appearance since a new firebox was fitted by Alton Engineering. The journey to Ilkeston and return was without incident although both Foster & Garrett took it easy as both are still bedding in bearings.

A pit stop was made on the way back for watering at the Rose and Crown where a pleasant serving wench served beers in the car park. I don't think the management wanted dirty greasy engine people lowering the tone inside of the establishment.
