Little Casterton Working Weekend 2013
Went over this afternoon for a couple of hours, a traditional working event, a nice way to end the season.
A rare opportunity for me to see a ploughing engine I've never seen before, former John Patten BB, Fowler 14384 Princess: http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tth/13...4-DSC_4186.jpg http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tth/13...2-DSC_4197.jpg Ploughing at the other end was Fowler 15451, Victory: http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tth/13...8-DSC_4276.jpg And the other engines present, Ransomes Sims & Jefferies 37087: http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tth/13...4-DSC_4279.jpg http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tth/13...3-DSC_4315.jpg Ruston Hornsby 161250: http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tth/13...2-DSC_4309.jpg And another Ruston Hornsby 175037: http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tth/13...7-DSC_4324.jpg Thanks to all involved. thumbsup http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tth/13...5-DSC_4386.jpg |

McLaren 127 has a similar arrangement, I believe those wheels were repaired ones added later by Taskers? http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/pictur...e/DSC_7683.jpg |

Loose spokes. |
One of the best events I have been to in a long while, shame it clashes with old warden most years. Never seen a peg drum working before or so many rare old tractors.
|
Sept 20 and 21st next year - between Old Warden and the Trust road run.
Great to see so many steam people, had a super weekend (portables - the future!) |
I hear you were visited by a beer swilling engine man on Sunday .
|
He was seen eyeing up a nice roller later in the day! ;)
|
I was exhibiting in the Stationary Engine section near the steam ploughing and it was very entertaining to watch. Of course the fine weather was a nice bonus as well!:)
