Did they or still do hold a steam rally at this pub at Little Leigh,Cheshire?

Yes but no longer. I believe it became a gastro pub which did not welcome steam engines

The event moved to The Leigh Arms around a mile down the road, engines do go for a run up to the Holly Bush over the weekend though.

Big shame that, one of our oldest traditional pubs / farm ruined .gone the way of so many.

I wouldn't say the Hollybushis ruined. It is not what I would call a Gastro Pub. They just don't want to have the steam party there any longer. It is still rather s nice pub and if it was a bit closer to me I would drink there more often.

I recoln the colour of one of the Burrells was worse!

wow, when I was a kid I use to drive the Burrell Steam Roller 'The Hero' in these pictures on this thread, would love to get that picture. I spoke to the Hollybush Landlord about holding a gathering this year in May at the start of the season like we did last year at The Three Grey Hounds, Alostock in April. The person who owns the Hollybush is not interested so we are looking at other pubs in the area. Last years gathering was great, Saturday was a lovely spring day and Sunday was bloody cold and it rained hard. Anyway this year my engine will be ready, in steam and with lights (I hope).

Is the Three Greyhounds event on this year too? I went on the AMTEC site on the events page and it is listed but not sure if it is 2013 or 2012 list, you need to ask your brother to be more specifc when he prepares his web page;)

If I am lucky I might get Blackbeard ready by then.

the Website is 2012 events, Brian M keeps asking for me to give him the events for 2013 but I keep forgetting to do it.

We can't go back to the Grey Hounds because of new ownership and its a meal place now. The Hollybush said no so we are trying a few others in the area. As soon as we have confirmation it will be posted on TT by Clive or Alan and hope we get some nice weather. Also we will not be going to NME as the brass work is not ready for the showmans, the courier did not pick it up therefore it wont be delivered till next week....

How is the cylinder block coming along, stripped it yet :(
