3" Simms Coupling

I need a 3" Simms Coupling for a dynamo. I am not too sure what they look like and would be pleased to receive any information about them.

Like that? Normally found on magneto drives.

Unfortunately not, those are the adjustable vernier couplings for magneto drives. I think the couplings I need are more substantial. I will try to post a photo of the parts that do the driving.

Are they the fibre disc's with six holes in them that connect two shaft's with three legged spiders on them?

We believe that this is the part:

The outer and inner components are metal, and the infill connecting piece (shown dotted and marked "e" in the top drawing) is rubber.

Some 8/9 years ago we purchased some like the drawing above if memory serves me correct they came from a supplier in the Midlands

Have a look at Fenner couplings, http://www.fptgroup.com/dss/docs/708..._Couplings.pdf

I have some new (old stock) couplings in work with Fenner Taper lock fittings. You are welcome to have one of these for the cost of the postage. I can see what I have on Monday. What shaft sizes are you coupling?

Cheers Carl.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to suggestions on this thread. I have now managed to obtain a coupling from Albert Smith who will be well known to several members of this forum. I attach some photos for your edification.
