A few shots from the HS&VF held on the weekend of the 19th and 20th of Feb. Just a few of the engines, maybe someone might post some more?

Maybe next year David! :( Still working on the Aussie connections with work, so maybe I'll have an excuse! ;)
Looks like a good time was had, sounded like it too when you called!! |
Indeed, a good weekend. Trouble is when you are in the thick of it, you don't get to see much of the show. I can report that the Studebaker towed the tractor sled out of the ring, so they put another 2 tons of concrete on it.....and it did it again.....
http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tti/10/041_0006.jpg Off to Tasmania next to take the big Marshall to Steam Fest at Sheffield. We will have both of the 8hp engines there this year, my single as well as the compound. |

I used to drive a Russian Zil , which appeared to be a copy , but it was gutless . |
It has a 320 c.i. Hercules flat head 6. Not the world's most powerful engine, but plenty of torque.

Cheers Paul. |
Yes my family did plan to go with some Garrett wagon owning friends of ours but we changed our minds in the last week. Will aim for next year, or maybe 3 to 4 years with our Sentinel?
Paul. |
Yes it is Andy's engine.

Thanks David, I only hope he didn't sell the rolls convertion bits he had for sale. Not many engines complete with that here or in England.
|
I don't think there are any left over here with the proper 'swing-type' changeover kit like those two have.
Great pics, thanks for posting. |
the first photo of the portable wow wot a stuning engine wot nhp is she she looks like she is asking to have a miniature made of her has any one got any more info on her

It is a 1906 Buffalo Pitts built in Buffalo New York, 8hp which is about the same as 4NHP. (6 1/2" bore x 9" srtoke), 265 rpm governed speed. A very powerful engine for its size, haven't managed to find a task beyond its capabilities yet. It weight 3 1/2 tons empty. Very large boiler for the size of the engine, absolutely no trouble in keeping up steam. PM me if you want any more information.

Have a look at the www.highlandssteam.org.au website and the 2010 gallery for some excellent photos.
